Maybe I won't have to butcher my book after all.

After waking in despair yesterday morning over my epiphany about having started the book in the wrong place, I decided to press on for one more chapter just to see what would happen. And you know, I think it just might work after all. So I am proceeding with the outline I've got now for Book 2, and I'll let Natalie (my agent) tell me whether she thinks I started it in the wrong place.

I'm just going to shut up and write.

  1. I've been there the last few days -- wondering if I'm in the right spot, or even going in the right direction. Glad you've found some clarity.

  2. I'm at a low point writing right now. Life just got uber-stressful at work (pink slips are coming) and I need to rewrite the first few pages of Hatshepsut.

    And it's snowing. Blecch.

I hope everything works out for your first few chapters!

  3. Arrgh! Pink slips!! I'm hoping for the best for ya, Stephanie!

If you want any feedback on the first pages, feel free to send them my way.
